Talentehaus "on Air"

Image
Due to the great successes in the Robotics European Championship (ECER) in April 2017 and the Robotics World Championship (GCER) in July 2017 the team of the Talentehaus Niederösterreich was invited to a live interview by the radio station Ö3.

GCER - Day 4

Up and Downs The first-time this week we could sleep until 8 o’clock. After the breakfast, some of us went to Norman while Alex D., Alex Z. and Florian stayed in the hotel to improve our robots for the DE-Rounds. In the morning the “Dronis” Harald, Rene and Valentin tested their Drone and Stefan, Christian, Viktoria, Matthias and Florentina listened to the studenttalks, presented our team and made new friends. After lunch, we started the Open Practise, our robots worked very well and we were confident that we had good chance to win the next match. During the Open practise and the DE-Rounds Florentina, Matthias, Stefan and Christian observed the gametable and wrote down their strategy, the way of the robots and the points of each team. Then we had the first DE-Game for this day, we were prepared very well and in the practise rounds everything worked perfectly. But suddenly our hay-stacks fell over and we only score

GCER - Day 3

Made Talentehaus great again! After a hard and short night, nearly everybody overslept. Even though, we were ready to go to GCER at 7 o’clock.

GCER - Day 2

Hopes, desperation and success! The day started as usual, breakfast at 6:30 and then going to Norman by “Uber”-drivers. Today we celebrated Bernhard Löwensteins (our Mentor) birthday and he was pleased about his present (a 3D-printed lion on a stone). In the morning, there was our first out of three Seeding Rounds. We were very optimistic to score lots of points - as fate would have it, one gear broke and we stopped the robot to prevent damages, but this is a disqualification or in other words: ZERO points. Our mood declined and we were thinking of ideas to come back again! Working together instead of against each other was the solution: we scored in our second run 165 and in the third 400 points! So we are back in the competition on the 16th place of 64 teams. At noon we had lunch together outside – but it is really hot and humid here. So sometimes the air condition is beneficial and we are spending most of the

GCER - Outstanding Mechanical Design

Christian is our specialist in complex mechanical design (KICC – “Keep It Cool And Complicated”). As you know, he is a student of HTL Moedling in mechanical engineering. He designed a Gear-Unit for performing different tasks by using only one motor.

We got up early to go to Norman. We went by “UBER”-drivers – they were really nice and told us about things to do in Oklahoma and Chicago. Here you can see the famous Skydance Bridge , which should look like a bird.
